We recently had the opportunity to visit the workshop of local fabricator and content creator Harry Erskine, one of the brains behind Soldura Motorsport, to capture a range of new photo and video content featuring tools supplied by our team.
While many online will recognise Harry for his distinctive bronze brazing work and impressive fabrication content, his experience extends far beyond social media. With more than 20 years in the automotive industry, including over a decade working within top-level motorsport and vehicle prototype development, his work is backed by a deep understanding of fabrication and craftsmanship.
Experience Built Through Craftsmanship
Alongside his automotive and fabrication projects, Harry has also contributed to specialist restoration and prop work, including involvement in projects connected to film production and historical engineering displays.
One standout project involved work on the De Havilland Museum’s WW2 Mosquito Merlin aircraft frame exhibit, recognised as the only surviving World War II prototype, where he worked using the original 1940s hand-drawn blueprints throughout the process. Hearing the stories behind projects like these gave a deeper insight into the level of precision and patience that goes into this work.
Capturing Real Workshop Content
Throughout the visit, we captured a collection of photos and videos documenting the workshop environment, ongoing fabrication work, and a selection of tools supplied by our team in real-world use.
The visit marked the beginning of what we hope will become an ongoing working relationship focused on authentic workshop experience, fabrication projects and showcasing quality tools within genuine working environments.
Traditional Design & Fabrication
A particularly memorable conversation focused on the design process behind the fabrication work, where many of his concepts still begin as hand-drawn sketches before moving into production. It was a reminder that even with modern technology and advanced fabrication methods, traditional craftsmanship, experience and attention to detail remain at the core of high-quality work.
More to Come
The session resulted in a strong collection of visual content that we look forward to sharing across our website and social platforms over the coming weeks.
This collaboration is only getting started, and we’re excited to continue working together on future projects as the partnership develops.
